Dr. Hatch received his Ph.D. in experimental psychology in 1977 from The University of Texas at Arlington and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in psychophysiology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook from 1977-1979. He joined the faculty of the UTHSCSA in the Department of Psychiatry in 1979, and he currently is a professor with appointments in the departments of Psychiatry and Orthodontics.

Dr. Hatch teaches biostatistics and research methods in the Department of Orthodontics.
