Jonathan Collette, DDS
Jonathan was born and raised in Idaho. He is the second oldest of eight kids. He received his BS in Biology from Brigham Young University. After which, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. While he was in college, Jonathan met and married his wife of now seven years. Together they have had two children, a 5 year old boy and a 2 year old girl. Jonathan enjoys snowmobiling, traveling, fishing, and especially hanging out with his wife and children.

Matthew Kriewaldt, DDS
Matthew Kriewaldt grew up in the small town of Gresham, Wisconsin. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, and dental school at Indiana. He then moved to Southern California to do a 1 year A.E.G.D. residency through the Navy at Camp Pendleton. Matt and his beautiful wife of 5 years, Traci, are having a difficult time adjusting to the weather in San Antonio. Matt and Traci have 2 wonderful dogs - a toy poodle named Zoey, and a Yorkie-Chihuahua named Chia. In his spare time, Matt likes to run, bike, and watch TV and movies with Traci.

Kelly McKenna, DMD
Kelly was born in Miami, Florida and lived in many cities around the state before coming to Texas including Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Sebring, Sunrise, Tampa, and Gainesville. She earned an AA degree from Broward Community College before finishing her B.S. in Biomedical Science at the University of South Florida. She moved to Gainesville to attend dental school at the University of Florida. Here, she met her awesome fiancé, Barak. She moved to San Antonio shortly after receiving her DMD to begin her orthodontic residency. Kelly likes to spend her free time in Virginia Beach visiting her fiancé while he finishes his Navy AEGD.

Jarod Oliver, DDS
Jarod Oliver was born in south Texas and lived most of his life in the small South Texas town of Three Rivers. He has been golfing since he was tall enough to hold a club, and eventually played in the Texas State High School Championships. He moved to San Antonio for college in 2000, and earned his BA in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005. He graduated from the best dental school in the nation, the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, in 2009, and is proud to stay for his orthodontic residency. On weekends, he enjoys watching sports of all kinds, but especially golf and football (Hook 'em!). He is also an avid foodie and loves to try new restaurants and visit wineries with his soon-to-be wife, Cele. Together they love to be outdoors, hiking or playing golf or grilling for their friends.

April Brown, DMD, MS
April was born and raised in Hope, AR – home to the world’s largest watermelons, hometown of Mike Huckabee, and birthplace of Bill Clinton.  She went to college at Ouachita Baptist University, only 45 minutes from home, in Arkadelphia, AR.  April graduated with a BS in Biology after three years and moved to Louisville, KY for dental school in 2004.  She graduated from University of Louisville School of Dentistry in May 2008 and moved to San Antonio, TX for her Orthodontics Residency.  April married her husband Jesse on the beach in Destin, FL in July 2005 after dating for 5½ years.  Together, they enjoy going to live country concerts and two-stepping the weekends away.  They are also big on the outdoors – fishing, hunting, going to the beach and sipping wine at the local vineyards.  April’s personal interests include singing, cooking, reading and working out.

Jason Frazier, DDS
Jason Frazier was born in Georgia but lived the nomadic life of a military kid until his family settled in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After graduating high school in Arkansas, he earned a BS in Biology from Oklahoma State University. He then attended Baylor College of Dentistry where he earned his D.D.S. and met his wife Kari, a dental hygienist. Jason practiced for 2 years in community dental clinics throughout Dallas before beginning his residency in San Antonio. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their first son – a 3 year old beagle named Ezra. Jason also enjoys playing soccer, hockey, tennis and volleyball.

Vishnu Raj, BDS, MS
Vishnu grew up and attended dental school in Bangalore, India. He completed an MS in Forensic Science at the Univ. of Central Oklahoma, and an MS in Operative Dentistry at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Vishnu enjoys working out, outdoor activities and music.

Raoul Santos, DDS
Dr. Raoul Santos was born in Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia. As a “Navy Brat,” he grew-up in Florida, Japan and Washington State. He is a graduate of Gonzaga University and attended dental school at the University of Washington. He was commissioned as a Naval Dental Officer in 1998 and has completed assignments in Spain, Florida, San Diego, the Middle East, Africa and Washington, D.C. Dr. Santos has achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander and he hopes to continue his career in the military as a Navy Orthodontist. During his spare time, Dr. Santos enjoys playing blues-guitar and engaging in a multitude of outdoor activities including tennis, cycling, skiing and golf.

Jonathon Kimes, DDS
Jonathon was born in Dallas, but spent most of his life in Alma, Arkansas, population 4,000. In 2003, he earned his BS in Physics from the University of Arkansas. Jonathon then attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, where he met his soon to be wife Trisha. Jonathon and Trisha graduated from BCD in 2007. After graduation in 2010, the couple plans on moving back to Dallas and starting a family. Jonathon's hobbies include golf and anything outdoors.

Brandon McGarrell, DMD
Brandon was born and raised in Fort Thomas, KY. The area known as Northern Kentucky and is located approximately one mile south of Cincinnati. Brandon is an avid sports fan, preferring college basketball, and both the NFL and college football. He received his BS in electrical enginnering at the University of Kentucky and worked as an engineer for Cypress Semiconductors for two year before making the best decision of his life and entering the DMD program at UK. After graduation Brandon entered the Orthodontic program at UTHSC at San Antonio.

Benjamin (BJ) Richards, DMD
Benjamin 'BJ' Richards was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida. He spent most of his first 18 years on the beach or in the water, anything from beach volleyball to fishing and scuba diving. Traveling next to South Carolina for college at Furman University and then Dental School at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He met his future wife, Rebecca his senior year of Dental School. After graduation they both traveled to Hawaii to live and work before starting his residency. He got engaged and married on the Big Island of Hawaii in April 2007. In June of 2007 they moved to San Antonio to start his residency. The most recent news is a baby girl due May 2008.

Dr. Danielle Cao, 2009
Danielle grew up in California. She attended the University of California, Irvine and majored in Biological Sciences. She received her dental degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her hobbies include art, music, volleyball, and swimming. She enjoys working with kids and participating in community service. Her future goals include having a private practice, teaching part-time, and doing volunteer work.

Dr. Elaheh Mohebzad, 2009
Eli was born in London, England (no, she doesn't have a British accent because she was only there for 2 years and her vocabulary consisted of dada and mama). Eli was raised in Houston, Texas where she also received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Houston in 2001. For all things dental, she has moved to San Antonio. She received her D.D.S. degree from none other than our own UTHSCSA in 2006 and then moved her belongings up 2 flights of stairs and is now in the orthodontic residency program. She always has a smile on her face and her friends accuse her of living in her own magical Happyland where nothing bothers her and every cloud has a silver lining. Amongst her many hobbies, her favorites are by far eating and sleeping. She readily admits to being a Britney fan and is shocked that people don't see the genius in her (yes that means you Christina fans!!!).

Dr. Marjorie Tsutsui, 2009
Marjorie grew up and went to college in Los Angeles, California. She earned her bachelors degree in biology at UCLA. She then headed to Seattle (for a change of climate) to attend dental school at the University of Washington. After graduating dental school in 2004, she returned to Southern California to complete a general practice residency program at the VA Hospital in Long Beach. Upon completion of this program, she stepped out into the real world, and practiced as a general dentist in and around her home town for a year. Marjorie is happy to be in Texas. In her spare time, she is trying to keep up on her running, although the heat and humidity have definitely affected her mileage. When not running, Marjorie enjoys being a Christina fan, and any Britney fans are not welcome as friends.


Dr. Ravikumar Anthony, 2008
Ravi grew up in Mumbai (Bombay), India. He is a 1999 graduate of the Governmental Dental College and Hospital of Mumbai and then proceeded to complete his orthodontic training at the Governmental Dental College and Hospital of Ahmedabad. Before joining us in San Antonio, he was a lecturer at D.Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital, Mumbai. His hobbies include reading, writing, movies, traveling, dramatics, and most recently … cooking. Although far from his native India, he has an extended family here in America, including two brothers and their families. Ravi also loves animals. In the past, his pets included dogs, pigeons, a turtle, white mice, lovebirds, fishes, and a finch!! We envision that he will have a house full of pets one day when he has more time, space and funds.

Dr. Doug Jensen, 2008
A lifelong Texan, Doug was raised in Dallas. He left Texas briefly to attend Brigham Young University. He then returned to pursue a dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, followed by post-graduate training in prosthodontics here in San Antonio. As a prosthodontist, he is seeking dual specialty training in both orthodontics and prosthodontics. He has lectured on topics related to prosthodontics and also teaches subjects on prosthodontics and orthodontics to undergraduate dental students here. Doug enjoys flying and restoring cars.

Dr. Kresimir Lackovic, 2008
This Krazy Kanuck was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. He earned his Honors BSc in Forensic Science and Biology and MSc in Oral Microbiology at the University of Toronto. He then obtained his DMD at McGill University in 2005. Kresimir is currently enjoying his time under the warm Texan sun and does not miss shoveling snow. He spends his free time hiking, swimming, golfing and especially playing paintball. He also likes "interacting" with all creatures great and small.

Dr. Wendell W. Neeley II, 2008
Wendell was born and raised in Somerset, Kentucky. He earned his BS in biochemistry and molecular biology from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky (famous as the "other school" in the Texas A & M football game that started the 12th man tradition). After one year of working for a law firm, Wendell attended dental school at the University of Kentucky, graduating in 1991 with high distinction. He then entered the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at UTHSCSA. During his time there, he completed his Doctor of Medicine in 2001. However, after those three years, he heard his true calling and switched to orthodontics, although his long-term aspiration is to become a JEDI. His professional affiliations include the ADA, AAO, and OKU dental honor fraternity. When not at school he enjoys riding his road and mountain bikes, reading and writing books, and spending time with his wife, Emily.


Dr. Blair Barnett, 2007
Blair is from Austin. He'll be proud to tell you that he graduated from UT Austin (Go Longhorns!!) where he earned his BA in Biology in 1998. This was also where he met his wife, Julie, who was his chemistry lab partner. He obtained his DDS from UTHSCSA in 2003. He then moved temporarily to Gainesville to complete a Fellowship in Orthodontics at the University of Florida, but he's sure glad to be back in TX to obtain his orthodontics training. He enjoys spending time with his family, movies and sports, especially college football. He has actually attended the last two Rose Bowls. His future plan is to practice in central Texas, teach part time in San Antonio and raise a son to become quarterback at UT.

Dr. Anurag Patel, 2007
Anurag was born and raised in Chicago, where he also received his BS in both Biochemistry and Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995. He earned his DMD and MS in Education from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. Thereafter, he completed an AEGD residency with the United States Navy and went on to serve three years onboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, out of Seattle. He is married and is a new dad. When not on duty in the residency, "Rage" enjoys golfing, watching sport events and impersonating others. His ultimate dream? … He's still waiting for the day when the Cubs win the World Series.

Dr. Quynh-Thuyen Tan, 2007
Quynh is a proud Canuck, hailing in from the Great White North. After growing up in Saigon and Halifax, she attended McGill University and obtained a BSc in Chemistry and Mathematics in 1996. Having had a lifelong interest in everything Japanese, she was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to move to the Land of the Samurais as a Monbusho Scholar to study Japanese and NMR spectroscopy at Kyoto University. After two amazing years in Japan, Quynh returned to Canada and completed her dental degree at the University of Toronto in 2002 followed by a GPR residency at UTHSCSA. QT likes to travel, bake and watch movies. Her long-term plan is to make her way around the world, sampling and learning to make a lot of foreign desserts along the way.


Dr. Amy Jackson, 2006
Amy was born in Beaumont but grew up in Houston, Texas. She received her BS from Baylor University and is a 2003 graduate from the dental school of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Outside of school, Amy enjoys reading, jogging and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Jun Park, 2006
Jun came to our program after having lived in Korea, Argentina and Canada. Having grown up in all these countries, she speaks four languages fluently. She obtained her BSc in Physiology from McGill University, Montreal and then an MSc in Physiology from the University of Toronto in 1997. Jun attended Columbia University for her dental education, then moved to California where she completed a GPR residency at UCLA in 2002. "Parks" is an avid golfer and a darn good one at that. We are also confident that she would qualify for the Indy 500 if only she would tryout.

Dr. Vincent To, 2006
Vincent is a 2003 graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dental School. He was awarded the Arthur T. Storey Scholar's Award July 2002. Dr. To obtained his BA degree in Physiology from the University of California, Los Angeles. In his spare time, Vincent likes to golf.


Dr. Saritha Chary-Reddy, 2005 - Dr. Chary-Reddy is a 2002 graduate from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Dr. Chary-Reddy obtained her PhD (Genetics), MSc (Genetics) and BSc (Biology & Chemistry) degrees from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India. Her field of interest was in the study of cancer cytogenetics with special emphasis on the role of fragile sites in etiology of non-hodgkins lymphoma.

Dr. Murray Dickson, 2005 - Dr. Dickson is a 2002 graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Dentistry. Dr. Dickson obtained his BS at the University of Alabama, majoring in Management Information Systems and minoring in Biology & Computer Science. He is currently enrolled in the MBA program at University of Texas, San Antonio.

Dr. Richard Hulme, 2005 - Dr. Hulme is a 2002 graduate from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School. Dr. Hulme was awarded the Arthur T. Storey Scholar's Award July 2001. Dr. Hulme obtained his BA in Humanities at Brigham Young University and is currently enrolled in a Master's program in the Department of Cellular & Structural Biology of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at UTHSCSA.


Dr. G. Van Cammack, 2004 - Dr. Cammack is a 2001 graduate from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dental School where he was on the Dean's List. Dr. Cammack obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from West Point.

Dr. Greg Coakley, 2004 - Dr. Coakley is a 2001 dental graduate from the University of Maryland at Baltimore when he graduated Magna Cum Laude and is a member of the OKU Honor Society. Dr. Coakley obtained both his Master of Science in Neurobiology and Bachelor of Science at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Dr. J. Scott Malone, 2004 - Dr. Malone is a 2001 graduate from the University of Florida at Gainesville, where he graduated with Research Honors. Dr. Malone obtained a Masters in Hospitality Management from the University of Houston Conrad Hilton School.


Dr. Jose Chacon, 2003 - Dr. Chacon is a 1992 graduate of the University of Los Andes in Merida, Venezuela, where he also taught in the Oral Radiology Department. He received his MS in Dentistry from the State University of New York in 2000.

Dr. Peter Gakunga, 2003 - Dr. Gagunka is a native of Kenya and a graduate of the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He received a Ph.D. in Oral Biology from the University of California in San Francisco, and worked as a Research Fellow at the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Baylor College of Dentistry from 1997-2000.

Dr. Kim Hanysak, 2003 - Dr. Hanysak grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, and graduated from Baylor University at Waco with a B.A. in Biology. She is a 2000 graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry, and was a Dean's List honor student.
